a start.

I doubt i'm going to write stuff in here very often, or that anyone is going to read it. As a starting point though:

1) The sun is out for the first time in over a month. i felt very exposed, as i couldn't hide things like skin imperfections and slightly messy hair behind the greyness. Also, it induced some unfamiliar emotion. Something along the lines of carefree. My need to go to Mexico is slightly less urgent, but still pretty strong.

2) I'm getting a free bike today! I don't plan on ever riding it, but for free, I couldn't pass it up.

3) I want to buy these sweet new boots, but am worried about wearing fashionable items to lab. I think i would feel really silly or frivolous. Must maintain the image of academic obsession!!!!!!!

4) In spite of this Aeron chair that i've sneakily acquired, my neck still hurts all day. So much for ergonomics.

5) If anyone has seen a cool recent journal article about genetics or something equally boring, let me know. I have to present one to my department next thursday, and every article I read makes me want to poke out my eyeballs. Requirements: lots of diagrams, lots of boring.
